How could I forget these pieces I did back in the late 2000s? Still so relevant to my current work – once again, what's old sounds new...

Rediscovered this track I made that made it into the long-running 60x60 project series. Seems like aeons ago but actually just nine years. I think my work has improved since then, but I've posted it anyway. What do you think, internets?

hirakito, my experiment in sound/space/improvisation with Kevin Corcoran, is getting some new press.  It's an honor to be included in critic Kevin Press' newest book, The Moderns 2019-2020 – alongside artists like Maryanne Amacher, Alvin Lucier, Art Ensemble Chicago, Ryuichi Sakamoto and Masahiro Sugaya!  Hope you will check out the book (available on Amazon) and the album (link above), which was released on CD by Full Spectrum in 2019.

In February I went to Willamette University for a week, at the invitation of the amazing Mike Nord, to perform this piece I made with a talented and energetic ensemble. Thank you Mike, along with Olivia Fields, Marissa Fink, Kimberly Hauser, Catherine Lee and James Miley for your beautiful playing! Gratitude also to video artist Peter Chamberlain for helping me literally realize my vision.

My slow experimental series keeps growing via graphic scores, in distant collaboration with eleven fabulous musicians and two volcanoes: Fuji-san and Mauna Kea.
